Well, it's not the first time he did something like this... remember Jiya Jalen 
frm Dil se... it has some Malayalam chorus throughout the song... & Dil Se... 
is a Hindi Original...

            Actually, it came as a surprise to me to know that Chinnamma gets 
reused 

in Tamil only now.



Its opening chorus gave an impression of it being a language song, so I 

was always thinking that it must have been some originally tamil 

original song that ARR had reused in Meenakshi.



Think about it. ARR - originally Tamil speaking, uses south Indian 

Chorus in a Hindi original. I don't exactly remember the situation of 

this song in the film - ok, it was Hyderabad based in part but was there 

anything that warranted bringing a south Indian flavor.



Could be that he had the tune ready for some Tamil film which got 

shelved and he used it in Meenakshi. Not sure, just guessing.
