the king's back .. A R RAHMAN.. this time in tamil, SAKKARAKATTI produced by kalaipuli s. thanu n' introduces 2 new faces to the industry..bhagyaraj's son shantanu(lead) n'thanu's son rajasekar(director).. its said to be a youthful movie a la jaane tu ya jaane na..
one thin' is proved yet again with this album that rehman's songs take time to grow on u.. so the point is let it grow on u..however, the big question is does it grow on u..does it stand tall or has a great fall?? so lame with my rhymin'.. thats wht u think then think again.. lyrics seem to have taken a backseat in this album(atleast 2 songs..).. chinnamma..retuned in tamil (chinnamma chilakamma song from MEENAXI:a tale of 3 cities)rendered by benny dayal n' chinmayi does make a mark..but when compared to the hindi version, this no. sounds a lil' dull.. elay..a fresh tune this one does quite well..the youth's the target krish n' naresh iyer on the vocals have done a good job.. however, the lyrics don't really sync with the song..anyway this one will be popular among the youth.. i miss u da.. rendered by chinmayi n'indai haza(the symphony) does take a while to get goin'.. begin' with indai haza(symphony) the song takes a tur when chinmayi comes in n' does a britney spears..it does sound a lil' weird but the song just settles soon enough.. however the song cud've done without indai haza who tends to get on the nerve with her symphony!!chinmayi does a good job.. naan epothu.. retuned in tamil again from MEENAXI:a tale of 3 cities (yeh rishta..)reena bharadwaj does full justice to the song.. it sounds good the 2nd time..the lyrics also better this time from pa.vijay.. taxi taxi..a hip hop cum rap cum dance no..in typical rehman style he just lets the vocalists Benny Dayal, Blaaze, Viviane C to do the job.. all of them do a good job esp. Blaaze n' Viviane.. a peppy no. with just the right amount of rap n' hip hop elements..it will be an instant with the crowd.. marudaani..rehman's album is usually incomplete without the genius himself.. madhusree begins beautifully and maintains herself throughout the song..yet another hit from rehmann'madhusree combo..rahman pitches in with the symphony and does a fair job..however u do miss him as a lead singer.. now that the review's over, u must think should i go for it or not.. i'll say u GO for it..coz it will take time to grow on u like every rehman album.. its been a while since rehman's come to party.. looks like he's comin' back.. Not his usual brilliance on display but definitely a decent effort put in.. as i said earlier the lyrics rn't catchy enough..it has enough zing to keep u hooked.. for the youth elay !!fresh enough... http://www.mouthshut.com/review/Sakkarakatti_Album-146781-1.html -- regards, Vithur HELP EVER; HURT NEVER; LOVE ALL; SERVE ALL
