IMHO,

1. A song can be called a "copy" or a "lift" when the "tune"
has no difference from the "tune" of an "original" piece(if exists!!).

2. Beats or Rhythm for many songs in the current age is mainly from
commercially available loops. Even some piano bits and flute bits can
be categorized in this and every composer uses it. There are some
companies which have collections of commercial tracks in different
genres for different situations with different instruments, that can
be used as BGMs in movies, the use of which is a prevalent practice in
Hollywood. Even "Titanic" has used it! This is neither "plagiarism"
nor "inspiration".

3. There is no clear demarcation between "Inspiration" and
"Plagiarism". Or people tend not to know. Even when you accuse Preetam
of "plagiarism", a very few of his, I feel like good "inspirations",
considering the orchestrations and development into songs. I want to
add that, I don't claim myself right!!!

4. Arguments "for" and "against" anything are always for time pass
sake. No one will agree that the one against him/her is right.

5. A person on his/her own is the better judge of a situation! I, too,
am nobody to correctly judge it. I've no plans too!!
