Actually this would be a merciful gap - I am praying for a little
more time! I forget when we last had 24 Rahman melodies to soak in a
7 month period. And as is wont in such a situation, a few underrated,
less-heard tunes will get forgotten until someone picks it up again a
few years later for all of us to realize what a gem we had missed.
Ada being a prime candidate - it's almost criminal how such a
stunningly crafted album is being given short shrift in the media,
but more so by us in this group.

So, yes I want these 3-4 months to live and breathe this year's
bumper crop, let those glorious tunes saturate every pore. Here's a
survival guide:

1. Pick 2 melodies for the week; listen them on repeat until you know
every turn, nuance and riff.

2. Rate, re-rate and finally unrate, 'cos you know each is in a class
of its own. My rating inevitably falls into three categories: Love It
Too Much, Love It A Lot, and Just Love It.

3. Listen to his songs from a random year in the 90s - then shake
your head in amazement how they still sound as fresh as this year's
creations.

4. Revel in the bliss of living in his time.

By then, at least one of the expected scores will be out, and
everything will be back to normal.
