Another celebrity has left his permanent mark on Dubai. Dubai Lifestyle City's
Wall of Fame now boasts of the hand impression of internationally acclaimed
music maestro A. R. Rahman.
The Wall of Fame was inaugurated with the hand impression of tennis star
Maria Sharapova in November last year. Since Dubai Lifestyle City is still
under construction, the Wall of Fame is not available for public view.
The wall does not physically exist at the moment but the collected hand
impressions will be put together and the wall completed along with the rest of
Dubai Lifestyle City. It will be ready for viewing by the end of 2009.
  A. R. Rahman is the latest addition to the list that already includes
celebrities such as Indian movie director Karan Johar, Bollywood star Shah Rukh
Khan, chief executive of JW Marriott Bill Marriott, Maharaja Gaj Singh II of
Jodhpur and Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh.
The basic concept of the Wall of Fame is to honour celebrities who have reached
the epitome of fame and success in their individual sphere of activity. It is
an initiative that aims to follow in the footsteps of Hollywood's Walk of Fame
and New York University's Hall of Fame.
