Even I watched/read that interview. he did say budget is the problem
when questioned why he doesnt compose for small profile films. but the
reason why he said that is because in small budget films, there is not
enough time to work. the movie is completed really fast which doesnt
give him time to compose. that was why he said budget was the problem
not because he gets less money from it. and yes, his orchestrations
are costly because he pays instrumentalists a lot of money (he paid
2500 rs for an instrument that costed 25 rs). all these years, i only
heard in one interview where he said he does a lot of ads (airtel,
world space) so that he can fund his KM music conservatory (that too
for a good cause). dont quote interviews in parts to support ur claim.
