to thinshan, hi man, rahman is composing, i know whether they(directors) can wait or not..they know how to manage time..they r not making serial episodes right? Illayaraja is composing for malaylam movies, u knows that, right? There are good directors who prepares movie with enough time concentrating on story, perfect casting and songs and if rahman is available for them, i know we can expect some good movies(which rahman really misses now a days here in south) with good songs not like what v r getting from Tamil or Telugu..
By the by i dont know how less bugdet is affecting composing time. Movies may be with small budget. But they will take enough time for all the background processes..dont think that bcoz of low budget it will be something like fast food. Malayalam movies doesnt have that much market.thats it. --- On Wed, 8/27/08, Thineshan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: Thineshan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [arr] Is Rahman's remuneration a problem forGood& Low Budgeted Movies To: [email protected] Date: Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 10:03 PM Even I watched/read that interview. he did say budget is the problem when questioned why he doesnt compose for small profile films. but the reason why he said that is because in small budget films, there is not enough time to work. the movie is completed really fast which doesnt give him time to compose. that was why he said budget was the problem not because he gets less money from it. and yes, his orchestrations are costly because he pays instrumentalists a lot of money (he paid 2500 rs for an instrument that costed 25 rs). all these years, i only heard in one interview where he said he does a lot of ads (airtel, world space) so that he can fund his KM music conservatory (that too for a good cause). dont quote interviews in parts to support ur claim. --- In arrahmanfans@ yahoogroups. com, jemsheed <jemsheed_k@ ...> wrote: > > I cant agree with vithur, > > I remember in an interview(Malayalam channel only) the same qn > raised. He replied as budget is the problem..of course money > matters..his orchestra may be costly.. > > No probs :) > > --- On Wed, 8/27/08, Vithur <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > wrote: > From: Vithur <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: Re: [arr] Is Rahman's remuneration a problem forGood& Low Budgeted Movies > To: arrahmanfans@ yahoogroups. com > Date: Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 8:55 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > I dont agree bro.. > > There are many other movies like Anthimantharai for which AR didnt take any payment. > > AR always has said that " The script comes in high priority for him, when compared to Money etc ". > > Even for ratchagan, it was the Director who was pressing AR to accept the money first, but AR was telling him " Why are you always bothered about money ??
