MR had a slight adaption of mahabharat in Dalapati I think and he did
execute GURU (almost a biography of Dirubhai Ambani). So it will be
nice to watch a contemporary adaption of an epic. Its where the art
meets creativity.

(or should i say, disappointing). Not that the movie would be good or
bad.. But you know.. when a bit of news about a substantl element, is
out .. the expectations go up.. more so in the case of Maniratnam
films.. and when the actual film turns out in a different dimension
(forget about it being good or bad), people say it is a let down.
Maniratnam, in my opinion, should stick to his old ways of keeping
everything under the wraps, instead of giving a peek into it and then
maintaining suspense. Infact, i didnt know any news-bit about all his
films before 'Guru', which is why i think i enjoyed them
more...because of no 'pre-imaginative expectations'. Only in the case
of Guru, there was this publicity about ' A cut-throat businessman's
story from rags to riches' and there people went speculating about the
character he was playing..which turned to be true anyways.
