MR had a slight adaption of mahabharat in Dalapati I think and he did execute GURU (almost a biography of Dirubhai Ambani). So it will be nice to watch a contemporary adaption of an epic. Its where the art meets creativity.

Not that the movie would be good or bad.. But you know.. when a bit of news about a substantl element, is out .. the expectations go up.. more so in the case of Maniratnam films.. and when the actual film turns out in a different dimension (forget about it being good or bad), people say it is a let down. Maniratnam, in my opinion, should stick to his old ways of keeping everything under the wraps, instead of giving a peek into it and then maintaining suspense. Infact, i didnt know any news-bit about all his films before 'Guru', which is why i think i enjoyed them more...because of no 'pre-imaginative expectations'. Only in the case of Guru, there was this publicity about ' A cut-throat businessman's story from rags to riches' and there people went speculating about the character he was playing..which turned to be true anyways. > > Expectations apart, i hope his upcoming film turns out good. > > > > Regards > Kamal Aakarsh Vishnubhotla. > > http://kamal-aakarsh.blogspot.com > > > --- On Fri, 9/19/08, Gopal Srinivasan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > From: Gopal Srinivasan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [arr] Ash plays classical singer in Ravan > To: [email protected] > Date: Friday, September 19, 2008, 4:44 PM > > > > > > > Sa Re gaana > Aishwarya Rai is learning classical singing for her role in Mani Ratnam's Raavan, a contemporary version of the Ramayana > Back to Section Stories Posted On Friday, September 19, 2008 > > > Mumbai Mirror Bureau > > Aishwarya Rai > Aishwarya Rai has reached a stage in her career where she wants to excel at every part she plays. > > At the moment, she's in Peru giving all she's got to her part as Rajnikant's love interest in Shankar's Tamil film, Robot. > > After > that, Ash will return to the country and get busy with Mani Ratnam's > next film, Raavan.
