Can we just change the word " Exploitation" to ' Experimentation".
??

He of course uses a lot of Instruments, and that was confirmed by  Santoor
Seenu himself for Sangamam songs as well as other songs.

Nice observation

What I usually 'see' in ARR's music is

1) 'Exploitation' of stereo effects! He uses stereo effects to the max. Some
are not easy to hear but the effects can be felt. Rahman is truly a master when
comes to maximizing the use of stereo effects!

2) Using string instruments. But the beauty is in hw he uses it. Left audio
will have its own tune and the one on the right is different. Together they
make a different tune! Take New York Nagaram and Fanaa frm 1.33 onwards for
instance.

3) He also uses a lot of different musical instruments especially during
interludes. Hmm, i think he uses everything there is in his studio:)

4) The most obvious thing is, the Rahman signature! Any song of Rahman, u can
identify just by hearing that it is by ARR. It is an undefenied 'trade mark'.
Can't be explained verbally!

Just my opinion...
