If we accept Sridhar, Mahendran, Balumahendra, Balachandar, Bharathiraja, Maniratnam and Shankar as trendsetters then we shuld gladly accept Gautam as a trendsetter too. Till date i have never seen a film in tamil like Kaaka Kaaka. It just belonged there closer to the Hollywood movies. the camera, music, editing everything was perfect to a T. Even though the movie had traces of the Hollywood movie Seven (By David Fincher), KK is still a great movie. Each and everyone of our big directors get inspired from the hollywood movies.
If Harris Uyirin Uyire got the people to theatres, its Gautam's screenplay, story, technical aspects made the movie to become a blockbuster and got the repeated audiences for the film and Gautam also helped Harris other songs in the movie to become a great hit. that's what i expect from the directors who work with ARR. I hope COM can justify that, and also pray deeply that it wont be a PKMC.
