What I think is that Rahman sir holds copyright issues of all the his compositions (Thats why Om Shanti Om didnt work out, as music company wanted to have copyrights in that case). Henceforth, he can use his tunes anywhere he wants to.
Because only he has those copyright, no other music director is allowed to use them in any song or as a BGM. Please correct me if i am wrong here.
