I try not to listen to promos or online clips. For me the whole process of getting the CD to listening to the first note still excites me. The anticipation of how he would start a song, the interludes, the genre, the instruments etc is as intense, if not more, as it was when I first heard AR. I like to listen to the whole album, soak it in and then go in for another round of listening. Like many of you, sometimes I don't like a particular song in the first couple of hearings. This usually changes.
The problem nowadays is that even after 16 years of living with AR's music, some of us don't get him.
