Showman Subhash Ghai is known to do things in style. However, when it came
to launching the music of his latest magnum-opus Yuvvraaj, the filmmaker
preferred to have a more private musical (afternoon) gathering rather than a
star-studded affair.

The music launch of Yuvvraaj, which took place today (Oct 16) at a plush
five-star hotel in
Mumbai<http://movies.indiainfo.com/2008/10/17/0810170141_ghai.html#>saw
showman Subhash Ghai, music maestro A.R. Rahman, legendary lyricist
Gulzar and playback
singer<http://movies.indiainfo.com/2008/10/17/0810170141_ghai.html#>Alka
Yagnik in attendance. A.R. Rahman's mother who rarely attends film
events unveiled the first CD and gave her blessings to the cast and crew of
the film.

Yuvvraaj is a musical extravaganza with 9 soul-stirring tracks composed by
Rahman and written by Gulzar. While Rahman and Mr. Ghai have worked together
earlier in
films<http://movies.indiainfo.com/2008/10/17/0810170141_ghai.html#>like
Taal and Kisna, this is the first time that Subhashji has worked with
Gulzar. Speaking on the occasion, an ecstatic Mr. Ghai said, "The experience
has been fascinating, exciting, and unique which is one of the pleasures of
working on a film with the celebrated music maestro, A. R. Rahman. This is
the first time that I am working with Gulzar Saab and the process of
creating music is all the more wonderful and joyous. Yuvvraaj needed a
distinct sound, keeping in mind its contemporary look yet melodious
compositions; it needed to be regal and grand in its composition but at the
same time it needed to have a modern appeal, which these two magicians have
wonderfully woven together effortlessly."

Music maestro A.R. Rahman also seemed pleased with his compositions and the
way the songs <http://movies.indiainfo.com/2008/10/17/0810170141_ghai.html#>have
been filmed by Mr. Ghai. "It has always been a pleasure to associate
with Subhashji on his projects. We worked on Taal, which gave me immense
creative satisfaction as a composer and it was an honor that Yuvvraaj was
offered to me. Working on the music of Yuvvraaj has been a creative
challenge for me, as Subhashji has always been associated with melodious
music and has a vast understanding about the subject. Once you have an
artistic mind like Subhashji behind you I guess everything falls rightly in
its place. Taal was a mega success and I see Yuvvraaj to be much bigger than
that."

Bhushan Kumar of T-Series (on which the music of Yuvvraaj has been released)
said, "The lethal combination of Subhash Ghai, A. R. Rahman, and Gulzar will
completely mesmerize music
lovers<http://movies.indiainfo.com/2008/10/17/0810170141_ghai.html#>."

With a stellar cast comprising of Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif,
and Zayed Khan, this musical extravaganza is all set to create magic on Nov
21, 2008.
