Hi all,
There has been an ongoing discussions that yesteryear music directors makes
music according to lyrics given to them and not vice versa that they give a
tune to the lyricist to fill in with words..And nowadays the later is practiced
more..
Listen to the track "MASTAM MASTAM" mainly , and you can clearly feel the music
is weaved around the lyrics, keeping the lyrics at the core. The lyrics never
stick to the traditional pattern and ARR had done magic with that keeping his
music to flow along with the lyrics. This shows why Rahman is in league with
great music directors India has produced..SD, RD..Shankar - Jaikishan, OP
Nayyar etc..
And i would like to point out an interesting thing.. i hope you all noticed and
feeled.. in the same track.. when the words come " kahega zamaana .. oo..
suneega zamaana", you are transferred to the 50's era..for these few seconds..
amazing.. No copying.. nothing.. but pure transformation..
Back to the main topic.. what you guys thing about it..
ARR Rules.. Always.
