Yuvvraaj
Soundtrack
T-Series/Eros International/Mukta Arts
Popular tracks: Zindagi and Mastam Mastam

Music forms the soul of Yuvvraaj, even though the title is riddled with
numerology tricks. AR Rahman is back with a fine set of tunes, starting
with Main Hoon Yuvvraaj, which finds Salman Khan introducing his
character while Beethoven's Fifth Symphony Prelude plays in the
background. Tu Meri Dost Hai, rendered by Benny Dayal, Shreya Ghosal and
Rahman, finds Hindi music with a feel usually provided by some
international R&B artistes. Mastam Mastam is not quite `Rahman'
like; it has a feel of Destiny's Child and TLC. Tu Muskura, sung by
Ala Yagnik and Javed Ali, sounds more like a contemporary Hindi film
track and Shano Shano finds the elements usually found in Rahman's
music. Zindagi is a beautiful composition, rendered by Srinivas. Dil Ka
Rishta has a touch of Western and Indian classical music, with an
extravagant background arrangement. Finally, Vijay Prakash's vocal
abilities come through beautifully in Manmohini Morey. Overall, this is
a good album but the songs might sound monotonous after playing them
twice.
