Yuvvraaj in troubled waters ? One of the most hyped films of the year could be affected by the overall economic crisis.
In the crowd of films, what sets showman Ghai's Yuvvraaj apart is that it's a film directed by the man himself. After going through highs and lows Yuvvraaj is finally ready to see the light of the day. But just when it is on the verge of release, another controversy has crept up. As per the original plan, Yuvvraaj was supposed to be originally distributed by Eros films. But the distribution company decided to sell the film to Shri Asthvinayak films. Apparently Eros sold the film to Shri Asthvinayak for 30 crores. "It was a one cheque payment from Eros," says our source. But all hell broke loose when Shri Asthvinayak's cheque was dishounoured. Due to the recent debacle of their films, Shri Asthvinayak was unable to pay Eros the huge sum of money. "The concerned people of the company told Eros that the maximum amount that they could now raise for Yuvvraaj was a meager 18 crores. This incident has left Eros livid." The issue is yet to be solved, due to which the release date of Yuvraj that is 21 November, 2008 might be pushed to a later date. In the present scenario, Eros might distribute the film.
