I think ARR himself might be refusing to appear on screen. He is a very 
shy person.

And, I personally wouldn't like him to appear for such 1 and 2 seconds 
pieces like Ghai appears on screen in his film on any road or part of 
any crowd, nor the way they goofed up the end of Golmal Returns to make 
the director's name and face appear in the last scene.

however, if it is a sincere musical scene crucial to the story line of 
the film in which some real musical personality has to appear on screen 
to give away some prestigious music award to someone, or to render a 
song himself, then I would sure like ARR to play such a role - something 
like Punkaj Udhas giving Chitthi Aayi Hai in Naam, or Nusrat Fateh Ali 
Khan appearing in the qawwaali of his first film, or some appearances of 
Jagjit Singh, etc.
