Point out to him that there have been rumours that Harris's decision to part
ways with him may have been influenced by his choice to work with A R Rahman
in Chennaiyil Oru Mazhai Kalam and the director says, "The decision to work
with A R Rahman in that project was taken a year back." Draw his attention
to the fact that Harris had said that the rift had started a year back and
ask him if this could be a reason for the break-up and he just smiles.

There was difference of opinion over the Pachchaikili Muthucharam project
between him and Harris. Quiz him on this and Gautham says, "I think the
problem with Harris is he tries to dominate. I have no ego and I have no
problem with that. If I know somebody's right about something I take it from
them. And I know that when it comes to music, he's a genius.

"I do a film because at that particular moment, I want to make a film. It is
my attempt at moving away from the ordinary. For Chennaiyil Oru Mazhai
Kalam, he said, 'Gautham, think big. Stop thinking small.' I don't like
that. I'm okay with suggestions but I want to do what I believe in, because
I'm inspired by an idea. You might not know what that idea is. Only I know
how my idea will finally come out," he explains.
