Ghajini is out. I love some songs (Guzarish, Kaise Mujhe plus instrumental), like one song (Bekha), and don't like two songs (latoo and Bachhoo). Mind you, me not liking latoo and bachoo has more to do with me not liking that genre of music instead of those songs in particular. Am not a fan of bubble gum hip hop, though I respect Rahman's efforts here, as the director and film required these songs.
Brilliance is there in parts, but an overall inconsistent listen for me, just like Yuvvraaj. Kaise Mujhe and Guzarish will definitely make it to my "ARR Best of 2008" CD. Kaise Mujhe is a very special and heartwarming song. Have no complaints on this one whatsoever as it's vintage Rahman with incredible soothing sound, singing, arrangements, instrumentation. More later as the songs get more etched into my mind.
