Seen some reviews of Ghajini with low scores primarily because the reviewer thought that the usual Rahmanesque trademark was missing. A thought that I have is, "Well, maybe Rahman gets bored easily and wants to experiment and get away from his usual trademark sound and try something new for a change.....should he be penalized for that?"
I certainly don't mind a bad review because the reviewer didn't like the music, but it almost seems as if low reviews are coming because people "expected more", when that expectation is perhaps too unrealistic or far fetched given the type of movie and the fact that Rahman is entitled to experiment and have a more surface, face value, outwardly pleasing soundtrack once in a while. Your thoughts?
