In fact, surpassed my expectations. For those who say that ARR is
still not giving them what they want, I really don't know what to tell
you other than you may never get it. Anyway, music taste is so
subjective that it's really not fair to judge.

>From haunting melodies to thumping rhythms to experimental shades to
fusion innovation to genre moulding.....what more can we expect from
an artist who only moves forward and keeps reinventing himself? If a
particular album doesn't do it for you, just wait for the next one.
And if you keep disliking each and every album that ARR comes out with
over time, your search may be long.

My hunger for ARR's music is satisfied, more so, and in fact starting
to feel fat. Seriously. From Jodha Akbar to Slumdog Millionaire,
what a fantastic run within 12 months. I didn't like each and every
Rahman song this year, but for the most part, I was impressed with the
range, variety, and depth of his compositions, given the relative
weaknesses in each album. I put together a compilation 2 disc set of
my favorite ARR tracks this year and let me tell you that after
listening, I was in some kind of trance state by the end, just numb
with musical bliss. Some of these tracks included Khwaja, Kahin To,
Millionaire, Tu Muskura, Bekha, Hawa Sun Hawa, Latika's Theme, Man
Mohanna, Dil Ka Rishta, Kabhi Aditi, Meherbaan, Mausam/Escape and many
more. By the way, compiling ARR's greatest songs this year on CD by
your choice is a great gift for friends and loved ones for the new
year. You may just convert some into new ARR fans.

I really wonder how many new ARR fans have developed this year. Hard
to define what that is, but I guess someone who maybe previously
didn't care much for ARR's music and now looks forward to the next
release with great eagerness and is constantly listening to ARR's songs.

Have a really, really good feeling about 2009 with Delhi 6, Blue,
Connections, the collaboration with Sukhwinder Singh and Kailash Kher,
and more.
