Q :- From the time you won the National Award for Roja, till the time, you have won the Nomination for the Golden Globe, how has been the journey ?
AR :- I dont know. I feel that there is somebody who is pushing me. at odd places, If I get stopped, I will get killed. So I keep running ( laughs). Its almost like that from Roja. I probably got the Best Director in the first movie. Also, in my latest movie, Slumdog, I have got the most reputed Director. I am grateful to God for all the awards He is giving me. LA Critics, New York Critics, Some satellite thing...Globe Awards ( which I dint know existed before ) Q :- Vandemataram created a revolution. What was your inspiration ? AR :- Somewhere in other states there was an anti Tamil happening. So we did tamizha Tamizha song. So, myself and my friend bala decided to do something. I met him after six years, and wanted to do something apart from Filming. Bala suggested that we can do something for the country as a whole. It was controversial, but the essence was something great. We wanted to do something to connect all state, all languages etc, and to suit the youthful audience.
