Indiatimes Movies brings to you top film albums that rocked the charts in
2008...
Film: Jodhaa Akbar
Music: A R Rahman
If you don't know what melody is, perhaps listening to the songs of Jodhaa
Akbar might give you some insight. Soulful lyrics, mesmerizing music and
mellifluous playbacks personify the soundtrack.
Like always, A R Rahman has churned out some great music to suit the entire
mood of the movie. The soft music of the album comes as a welcome break from
the regular loud numbers. Jashn-E-Bahaara and Khwaja Mere Khwaja escalate
the soundtrack to great highs.
Film: Yuvvraaj
Music: A R Rahman
Subhash Ghai's films in the past have been great musicals and Yuvvraaj took
the tradition forward. And when you have two masters, Gulzar and A R Rahman,
working on a thing, you know what to expect.
Yuvvraaj music comprises some melodious music wrapped around beautiful
lyrics that one will like to put on the repeat mode. Tu Meri Dost Hai and Tu
Muskura and Shano Shano went on to become the most popular numbers from the
soundtrack.
Film: Jaane Tu ... Ya Jaane Na
Musicr: A R Rahman
A R Rahman surprised everyone with this one. He tried to experiment with his
music and the results were fantastic. He also introduced some young singers
through the Soundtrack and the listeners took instant liking to the new
voices.
The tracks Kabhi Kabhi Aditi and Pappu Can't Dance were a huge rave with the
young crowd. Peppy music by Rahman and unique lyrics by Abbas Tyrewala made
the music album a great hit.
