A R Rahman winning the prestigious Golden Globe award for Best
Original
Score was like "music to the ears".

"I was yet to overcome the spell of *Ghajini*'s *Guzarish*
song<http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/story.aspx?id=NEWEN20090079803#>and
here is Rahman making history for India at the world stage," Suhasini,
an Indian living here, said.

"Rahman and his music simply continues to amaze men and women of all ages,"
she said.

Ever since Indians here woke up to the news of Rahman becoming the first
Indian to win the Golden Globe award for his music in *Slumdog
Millionaire<http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/story.aspx?id=NEWEN20090079803#>
*, a sense of joy has descended in the community.

"The news is music to the ears in every sense of the term," said Vinod who
has made a point to watch every A R Rahman stage show that has taken place
here in recent years.

"It's a great day for India. Rahman has made us proud."

For senior marketing executive Shailendra Kulkarni, just rejoicing is not
enough. "Indians should get together and celebrate this award by singing and
playing the choicest of Rahman songs that have enthralled us over the
years."

A Bollywood enthusiast summed up in these words: "an otherwise cold gloomy
day in Dubai has been lit up by the latest Rahman feat. I just hope he
continues to bring more light to our lives."
