Genda Phool, reminds me of my childhood..
First of all the sound at background in beginning (Heyy....)
Frankly speaking, this sound reminds me of a Balloon selling haker who used to
come every morning during my summer vacation!!! lolz...Almost a decade has
passed since i heard that sound!!!

I guess, i have heard this kind of lyrics.. The words Genda Phool takes me
back to meromry lane..I havent heard UP/ Bihar follk much in my life...(I have
grownup hearing Dogri/ Punjabi folk)...but still the words Genda Phool rings
some bell...

The Tune might be traditional too!!! But the way it has been
treated...Choosing rekha Bhardwaj to sing, then the mixing...Its just awesome..
I have been hearing this song on loop..It has the flavour of folk fused
superbly!!!

I just wonder how ARR got an idea bout the background sound of the man
shouting "HEYYYY....."

Is the same hawker from my place got shifted to chennai and someday he walked
down the streets of kodambakkam selling balloons!!! lolz...

traditional song too?> Is it not composed by ARR?> It has all the
characteristics of being a UP/ Bihar traditional song. It makes Late Naushad/
Shaqeel Badayuni proud who used to compose such songs 60 years ago.I have heard
100s of traditional songs but have not heard any song like this or matching
this. of course that doesn't prove it might not be, but I feel it is more like
a fresh composition by our man, that is a new high for him for having given
such a pure traditional song. And then, Prasoon also deserves all the praises
for penning such a natural lyrics. I wonder what is the background of Prasoon?
Is he from UP/ Bihar.-- Rawat
