I want to enjoy the moment: Rahman

Mumbai, Jan 22 (PTI) Celebrated composer and the first Indian to be
nominated to the Oscars for original music score, A R Rahman, today said he
wanted to savour the moment and not worry about the future.
"There is still a month to go for the awards," Rahman said when asked if he
was confident of winning.

"I want to enjoy the moment and not think of the future," he said.

Expressing happiness at being nominated, Rahman said he felt good that the
music of the film was well received in the West. "These are good positive
vibes." The composer said there was no special celebration for him. "I am
busy mixing the music of 'Delhi 6'. I am a musician and I have commitments
to keep," he said.

Rahman has received two nominations in the Original Song category along with
Gulzar for 'Jai Ho' and 'O Saya' with Maya Arulpragasam.

The music director said 'Slumdog Millionaire' was his favourite film as it
portrayed reality with a sense of optimism.

'Slumdog' has been nominated for the Oscars in ten different categories
including Best Picture and Best Director among others.

Actor Irrfan Khan, who plays a police inspector in the film, said, "Even
though 'Slumdog' is a UK film with a British director, the story is Indian."
Khan expressed happiness that talent from the country was being recognised.

The film releases in India tomorrow. PTI
