I think its one of the invention of the west destined to be used by the east as it can naturally reproduce the variations of pitch, tone, amplitude and other sound parameters beyond my knowledge, which are at the base of carnatic and eastern music in general. But it surely does magic and when used my our boss will create honey for our ears...
