The other day I was looking for ARR's CDs on Amazon to recommend to my colleagues (here in Denmark) who have recently been introduced to ARR's music (thanks to Slumdog Millionaire), and to my surprise other than one (Introducing A.R. Rahman) which includes some of ARR's Tamil hits, I could not find a single album with collection of best of ARR's hits (specially from his Hindi albums). At this point when ARR's music has been introduced (with a bang) to the whole world/west with Slumdog Millionaire, there must be many people looking to buy his other works, but sadly there is no way to find it out here. All people do here is to hit Amazon but sadly Amazon does not offer much given the fact that there have been very few (better said no) releases of ARR albums keeping in mind the international audience. I wonder at this point why don't these top music companies in India (T-series etc) release collection of greatest-hits of ARR. These companies should not be that much dumb to not to realize the potential behind it and to make a whole lot of money at a time when a lot of people must be looking for ARR's collection. And if these music companies cannot do this, why don't ARR's KM Music does this?? Who else can better come with collection of ARR's rare gems than KMM? any thoughts guys?
