*Singer Karthik in Rahmania ( Pre Recorded Interview )*

" With Rahman, he is very very creative, spontaneous and very open. He will
see, if the singer is able to justify the tune which he has in mind. If a
singer gives something more , and if He ( AR) liked it, he will surely have
it in the song. The judgement about that thing would be very nice with him.
He is very open to anything new. *He has a good balance between what he
wants and what can be incorporated.* This is a very very nice quality in
him. Many a times, he would not fix himself that he wants a particular
thing, while at some other instance he may fix up on what exactly he wants.
He knows what to say. Its an amazing quality he has.

His music has wonderstruck me, till the time I met him and sang for him. As
I start knowing him more and more, his simplicity wonderstrucks me now. We
all know well, that he is a genius when it comes to music. He is very
blessed and very very talented. The most amazing aspect in him is that
amidst such success and glory, he remains so simple. *He handles success in
a very beautiful fashion*. I don't know as to how many people can react to
success, the way he does it actually. He is very spiritual, and I think that
helps him a lot. His simplicity strikes me always, and I think as to how a
person can be like that.

I had a lot of songs which had a lot of influence on me. First, when Roja
released , I couldn't understand anything . I was listening to it again,
again and again. And similarly, the song " Ennavale", " Uyirum Neeye", and a
lot many songs in those times. I started getting close to music listening to
majority of his songs. That song was so dear to me that I used to listen to
it more than five or six times, even before I went to bed, or had food. Like
these, we can keep telling a lot many songs also.

Roja was a trendsetter as you all know, and I have heard a lot many times.
Slumdog and Jai Ho was great as it was typical Bollywood style of Rahman.
The music is very Indian and Indian based. I think the world has accepted it
now, and many would open their eyes and start listening to more Indian songs
now. One more very important quality in him is that he is very keen to
explore new options. That's an innate quality in him, and he always wants to
do something new. *He always keeps searching for something new, and that's
why he has grown up this much. The keenness to keep getting better. *

More than Tamil Music, for the Indian music in whole, he has redefined
technology to a great extent. He serves as an idol to all musicians existing
now, and we look up at him for guidance. Rahman is way ahead in terms of
technicality when compared to the current existing Hollywood studios. He has
taken music to such heights and it's a phenomenal achievement.

I think and believe that his strength is that each and every album of his
has a particular colour in it. If you see Jodha Akbar and Jaane tu Ya Jaane
Na, there is no similarity between the two. Both are entirely different
work. One is a period movie and another is a different one. That is a
fantastic quality. He adapts himself so well to the theme of the movie and
to what the Director wants and asks him to do. *Without separating the re
Recording and the songs separately, he gives an exclusive shade to the
movie, and to suit the movie well. That is his strength. *

I like the song " Pachai Nirame" very much from Alaipayudhey. I am very
happy that he made a song like that. I have felt very happy hearing to it
many a time. The melody, the lyrics were so beautiful. Hariharan would have
sung it very well. The orchestration of the song was so beautiful. The
visualization would be superb, and the movie is also a great movie. I was
stunned seeing the picturisation and completely fell in love with the song.
I like the song for many reasons.

I am so proud to see the Oscar Nominations . Really Really hopes he wins
one. Certainly he would. There is no doubt in that. As a fan I am so excited
about the whole thing. Wish him all the very best.

I am thankful for this Interview and my thanks to Aahaa Fm.

Keep smiling. Take Care.
