on reading in this list that our man got BAFTA, my first reaction was: Well, it was expected. . . . . And then I laughed on myself. I had heard of SDM sometime in Oct 2008, and came to know of Jai Ho song on Nov 1 when I posted messages on orkut groups to know more about this song.
That meant it had not even been four months that I knew about the movie. And, the same movie and its music getting so many prestigious international awards now brings the response "it is expected". . . . . That is the great contribution of our man to the psyche of Indians. So many prestigious international recognitions that we could only wish and hope for, but couldn't really think possible to get, as early as just four months ago, today Indians are thinking, yeah, he (ARR) can do it, an Indian can do it, Indians can do it. That is the great contribution of our man to the psyche of Indians. He has broken our shackles. He has widened our perspectives. He has changed our paradigms. He has brought India to International stage. . . . Now, India is world class. Now, the world knows about Indian's capabilities in these fields. Now, many other Indians would get such awards and honors and recognitions. Thanks to our man for it all. You are the torchbearer. May God bless you. -- Rawat
