Does it mean that what we are hearing about our man and Sukhwinder
performing one of the song live at the ceremony, they were also to
perform such truncated 60 seconds?

And, I am confused on how to comment on this. The artists' views are
indeed valid, but we should also think about the practical problems that
organizers must be facing. Oscar is basically awards giving ceremony,
and there are some entertainment clubbed in it as a sideshow to add
spices to it. There is only limited time available for such
entertainment thus even though they themselves want full songs/ movies
to be played, they can't allow this.

Hope some practical, mutually agreeable solution evolves for this.
