i also felt the same way but was too shy to post it as i thought you bros would
be angry. I thought rahman had not met the expectations in this album. but now,
i am not listening to any other album but this one. my favorites are arziyan,
delhi 6, genda phool (my pick of the album), dil gira, hey kaala banar, rehna
tu. Genda phool was originally my worst mick but that was because i never heard
past the first 45 seconds, which is when the music starts but now, its my
number 1 fav song. a question, when is rahman's next tamil album releasing.
rite now, the tamil songs are filled with crap except for villu and
padikathavan. we need rahman to shake the tamil world and show who's king like
sakkarakati.

Subject: [arr] Is D6 one of Rahman's best ever?

The answer to this is quite subjective. How can any art be called
"the best" or "one of the best" in an objective sense? However,
consensus helps to enlighten. Take a look:

When this album first came out, I was skeptical at first with people
raving about it to no end even though I liked it. But now, this
beautiful album has become an important milestone in ARR's career and
has cemented itself as a great highlight of his career IMO. It's a
complete album in every respect and after listening, I never get the
sense that something is missing, even though there's no pure
instrumental. The album scores high both horizontally (variety,
scope, length, diversity) and vertically (depth, sound, serious
immersion, musical prowess, great lyrical value, exceptional singing,
great interludes).

I hope ARR himself realizes what a gem he's created here and how much
it's appreciated.
