To: "arrf" <arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com> Date: Saturday, February 21, 2009, 8:31 PM Something very serious has come up. In today's Dainik Bhaskar Newspaper (Feb 21, 2009), Indore edition, City Bhaskar (Page 6, I guess), Mr Jaiprakash Chaukse, writer of regular column "Parde Ke Peeche" that has been compiled and published as a book also of the same title, has accused our man of piracy. he said something like this - -- (translated from hindi) This song (Genda Phool) is an adaption of Chattishgarh' s poet Gangaram Shivare and Music Director Bhulavaram Yadav's song "Saas Gaari Dethe, Nanad Muha Lene, Dever Babu Mor". There is some alteration in the lyrics of the song, the tune has also some alteration. The song was rendered by Joshi Sisters in 70s. -- Google thru this link: http://amitasha. sulekha.com/ blog/post/ 2009/02/delhi- 6-folk-song- gonda-ful- became-genda- ful.htm DELHI-6- FOLK SONG GONDA FUL BECAME GENDA FUL. Feb 19 2009 | Views 118 | Comments (2) DELHI-6 IS RELEASING TOMORROW ALL THE SONGS IN THE FILM ARE AMAZING BUT ONE SONG WHICH HAS A UNIQUE FLAVOUR OF ITS OWN IS :- "SAAS GARI DEVE DEVAR JI SAMJHA LEVE SASURAL GENDA FUL SAINYA JI CHHED DEVE NANAND CHUTKI LEVE SASURAL GENDA FUL" VERY FEW PEOPLE KNOW THAT THIS SONG ACTUALLY BELONGS TO CHHATISGARH LATE SHRI GANGA RAM SHIVARE HAS ORIGINALY WRITTEN IT IN A CHHATTISGARHI LANGUAGE. LIFTED VERSION HAS ONE OR TWO CHANGES LIKE GONDA IS REPLACED BY GENDA AND REST OF THE WORDS OF THE SONG ARE ALMOST SAME AS ORIGNAL ONE WHICH IS SUNG BY LOCAL FOLK SINGERS OF CHHATTISGARH EVEN TODAY. THIS SONG WAS FIRST SUNG BY LATE SH BHULVA RAM YADAV AND THEN BY JOSHI SISTERS IN 1972 WHO PRESENTLY LIVE IN RAIPUR (CAPITAL OF CHHATTISGARH) . IT IS SAD THAT PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR OF THE FILM HAVE NOT MENTIONED THIS FACT . LOCAL ARTISTS AND SINGERS OF CHHATTISGARH ARE UNHAPPY AND FEELING CHEATED AS NO BODY OUT SIDE CHHATTISGARH KNOW THIS FACT. PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR OF THE FILM SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED SOMEWHERE IN SOMEWAY THAT THIS SONG IS ORIGINALLY A CHHATTISGARHI FOLK SONG. --end I am speechless. The D6 song is a great song and has become my fav. And it is the first time that such a serious allegation has come up against our man. It is not about 2-3 seconds of similarity due to some bought loops, they are talking about the complete song. I am sad that this controversy has arisen. Hope some ethical and mutually amicable solution comes up. Requesting members to remain calm. I hope that concerned D6 people would and should issue some statement about it. -- Rawat
