Hi, I'm sure we all are hyper-excited about Arr's musical sweep during the awards season.But call me greedy:-) I certainly would love ARR to win more internation awards and global recognition. Rahman's thumping,colourful and infectious score for Slumdog millioaire has won him the Oscars/GG/BAFTA/many critics awards, proves that there's no exact choice (-read orchestral scores) candidate for nominations/wins.Having said that,if you analyse the 90's and this decade you can glean some insights. Cartoon/animated films are a perennial favourite of the awards jury; Just to illustrate,Alan Menken(beauty & beast,aladdin,pocahontas),Arr's fav Hans Zimmer(the lion king) have won oscar's for this genre and recently Michael Giachhino (ratatouille),Thomas Newman(wall-e)have recieved nominations.Animated films offer a wide canvas for musical expression and would be a great opportunity for ARR to let loose his wild imagination. The other surefire nomination/win in any category in awards would be a holocaust drama.Consider this year alone -The Reader,Defiance.Personally i would love ARR to do full length pure orchestral score in this genre. Please add your thoughts here;
