Tonight I went out for dinner (for a change) rather than eating on campus. When I got on bus, I saw some white guy listening to 'Jai Ho' on his iPod (I accidently looked at his iPod) and later 2 guys (age 30-40s) started talking about Slumdog Millionaire. They talked quite a bit about the movie and said that they have been to India and it is really progressing well.
Then talk went to music of the movie. One guy said composer of the movie also won 2 oscars and song 'Jai Ho' is really good, then other one asked who is the composer, he said its some Indian composer, and music is very different from what we used to hear in movies, its very fresh. Then other guy said he will look up for composer's name on google, before I could interrupt them by saying that it is Rahman and give some info about him and his music, they got off the bus. I was amazed as I had never thought I would see white people in Vancouver talking about Rahman's music... O yes! the restaurant I went to, they were also playing Slumdog songs.. it was like Rahman everywhere :D
