It is truly the blessing of Lord Shiva himself. ARR's dad's name Shekar means lord Shiva... and arr recieved the award on Shivarathri. That too, this year Maha Shivarathri falling on a Monday makes it even more special. The best part is when resul pookutty chanted OM and expressed its significance to the audience watching oscars all over the whole world. So, Illayaraja is absolutely right in saying his father's blessings brought him the oscar.
