There are some nice things that he has said here. What a human being..
If there is an oscar for being humble - he will win it hands down!
I'm just writing the ones he said in tamil here:
- I thank everyone for the extraordinary reception you gave me when i
came back with 2 oscars. Thanks for all your love and prayers.
- Oscar is a big award, but my fans are more important to me and i
value it more.
- There are 350 million americas 3 times more Indians - Their prayers
and love mean more to me.
- I have no end goal. You cannot have end goals in Music. Its a
spiritual thing.
- Music has a power to bring unity and removes the divide across
religion, ethinicity and language. He also said 'NORTH & SOUTH'
- There is always an apprehension towards new things. Now I hope the
west will start to hear more of Indian / Asian music.
- There are a few rules to each industry. There is a difference
between our styles, our movies run for 2.5 hours while theirs is 1.5
hours. They may not like the music presented the way it is in our
movies, as the songs (in the movie) are inserted nicely between it has
created an impact.
- I want the tamil film industry to move to the next level and it
doesnt happen with one person. it has to be a team effort. I'm
currently workings with Maniratnam, Shankar, Gautam Menon and Kathir.
- Initially they were shooting the end credits with a different song,
then i felt Jai ho would be appropriate finish and did that..
- I am getting hollywood offers, i'm planning to take up 2 movies.
- We don't need to everytime cater to western audience, satisfying our
audience is a big thing!
- but I blabbered (:)) in my first interview that i want my music to
reach globally. When you say something you have to do it and its good
thats happened.
- I met Resul first during Hindi Ghajini and was really impressed with
his work and i'm very happy he won the oscars.
- When a song creates an impact on people or changes a society thats
more important than an oscar. Like a husband who wants to commit
suicide because of hatred towards his wife, listens to the song and
understands the depth of love and changes his decision. thats important.
