The actor has been seen spending a lot of time in Oscar winner A R Rahman’s studio these days. The buzz is that he might get a chance to sing a song or two in his upcoming Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV). The highlight of the film will be, of course, the music by Rahman considering that it’ll be his first film with Gautham to hit the stands post the director’s split with Harris Jayaraj.
If it happens, Simbu will join a trend that Vikram recently started when it was announced that he’s singing for Kandasamy. Meanwhile, VTV (that stars Simbu and Trisha in lead roles) has completed its first schedule in Chennai and will soon move to Kerala for some exotic outdoor locations. We also hear that a couple of months later, the director will start shoot for the film in his favourite location — New York! Work on VTV will most likely finish by May and will release in July. Though the film started out as a low-budget quickie, it’s bound to become bigger as time progresses. The film is likely to be Simbu’s big-ticket launch. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Entertainment/Simbus-big-ticket/rssarticleshow/4217730.cms -- regards, Vithur
