When AR Rahman thanked three persons on the Oscar stage, which included Raqueeb
Alam, people were not aware of the immensely talented person who’s been
associated with Rahman since the days of ‘Mr. Romeo’.
In ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, the mesmerizing score ‘Ringu Ringa’ was penned by
lyricist Raqueeb, a man of mellifluous words at his disposal. He has the rare
talent of singing the lyrics to the tunes set by the composer at the very first
instance.
With fluent in Hindi and Tamil, Raqueeb sang in the chorus of Shivaji’s theme
earlier and has written two songs for Rajinikanth’s forthcoming animated flick
‘Sultan – The Warrior’.
Not all get the honor of being spelled out on the International academy award
stage, but Raqueeb Alam had it.
