The tune composed by the duo Raj - Koti is heavily inspired by Axel F's Miami Vice Theme. However the interludes are not.
http://www.amazon.com/Axel-F-Miami-Vice-Themes/dp/B000QO2MY2 In a very emotional T.V. interview after the Oscar win, Koti mentioned that ARR who worked for the duo in the 80s as a keyboardist, had played a major part in this song. Also the fact that Raj Koti used Jojo as a singer is a dead give away. Jojo BTW was the singer for the band Roots that ARR was a member of. Jojo hardly sang any other Telugu songs before that. ARR also mentioned about his association with Raj - Koti in a few interviews With due respect to the arrangment skills of Raj - Koti, there were a few songs whose arrangements were highly spohisticated compared to their normal output, the same way a few of Anu Malik's movies (Ashoka, Janneman) sound 'different'. I strongly suspect ARR's heavy hand in these. (Examples 'Padaharella Vayasu' from Lankeswarudu, All songs from Trinetrudu) I do agree that we can only surmise the extent of ARR's involvement though. ________________________________ From: devMannemela <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, March 20, 2009 8:45:38 PM Subject: Re: [arr] Oh Pappa...ARR's "TOP" quality arrangement for Raj Koti It's so 80s electronica. . just curious. how do you know it's by ARR ?
