Thanks for all those who made it - it was a small group but significant group and we really enjoyed ourselves. (Sorry we forgot to take pics - we were too absorbed in the music.) We went through a whole range of AR's work ... all the way from Roja to Rhythm to May Madham to Swades BGM to Elizabeth to TLOBS ... 5 hours and we didn't realize how they went!!!
I'm planning for the next meet on June 13th - I'll send out a separate mail announcing this. So fans in the area - do save the date! I was thinking we could make the meets theme-based -- this does not mean the entire meet would strictly revolve around one theme, but maybe a third of the meet could be thematic or till the group's interest sustains. So for the next meet I'm proposing we'll have the theme as 'Classical'. For an hour of so, we'll browse through some of ARR's classical-based (hindustani, carnatic and western) work. If we have any singers (or if someone knows someone who's a singer) -- we could get a snippet of the Raga and then listen to the track itself. Just some thoughts. More themes could be: - Genres / Styles: Classical, World, Minimalistic, Reggae ... - Instrument based: Guitar, Flute ... - Singer's the hero - Percussion ... and so on. Do send in your suggestions.
