Has the release of Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Sultan the Warrior been posptoned to
the end of the year.
Last month, it was reported that the film would be releasing in July but in a
recent interview with the Indian press, Soundarya said that only 70% of the
film had been completed. There were also problems associated with A.R.Rahman’s
available dates for the film’s re-recording.
Some scenes contain actual footage filmed with Rajinikanth and converted to
digital animation. This is the first time in the world that this technique was
used in a full-length feature.
Soundarya Rajinikanth has also roped in Hollywood-based the Image Matrix for
the digital facial animation. This company worked on Brad Pitt’s Academy
Award-winning The Curious case of Benjamin Button.
Sultan the Warrior will be India’s most expensive animated film and will have
Rajinikanth dub for the lead character.
