Jerry Topinka is one more musician who deserves the sobriquet "Mr. Versatility." In his long career, the guitarist, composer, bandleader and educator has played Las Vegas lounges (in the 1970s and 1980s) with the show band Chailo, which also backed Newark-born disco queen Gloria Gaynor; played behind former heavyweight champion-turned-singer Joe Frazier in gigs on the Jersey shore; toured in 2000 with A.R.
