Rahman fans will get to read about the the maestro's early years soon! An 
authorised biography of A.R. Rahman is being written by Kamini Mathai and 
should be in bookshops in the near future. 

The author will compile all the important occasions of Rahman's life, and the 
book will detail his every achievement. It also talks about his father's death, 
his school life, the reason why his family embraced Sufism, and his discovery 
by Mani Ratnam. 

Every day there is some news about the Mozart of Madras, and a biography was 
long overdue. Rahman now has many international offers coming his way, and the 
western audience has woken up to the achievements of Indian cinema. The legend 
who created some sensational music is now famous all over the world. 

An unknown fact is that there are some schools in the US where his music is 
used as a case study by graduate students. 

Rahman has started a music conservatory in Chennai through which he plans to 
raise awareness and also impart quality music education to many talented 
youngsters in India.
