Well i agree completely. Look it logically. because of his great talent and the number of awards Rahman commands everyday, his fees to do a film is going to be pretty high as well. He is in great demand! The two films Amit Trivedi has done , Aamir and Dev D are both small budget ventures. The music of both was stunning. And i think he has great talent. However, what he is not getting is proper recognition. Do not get this wrong. When Rahman came in 1992, the music industry was in the doldrums. Yes he has great talent, as a fan of his music i attest to that, but it could have happened that his talent went unnoticed. thankfully that did not happen. also helpful that his first film Roja was no small budget venture. This has not happened for Amit Trivedi. There is no doldrums today in music, largely due to Rahman's presence and his inspiration to other music directors to experiment with their music. Amit's music was released in the shadow of two brilliant Rahman scores Aamir in Jodha Akbar, and Dev D with Delhi 6. Being small budget films, they attracted less attention. I hope that we see more of Amit Trivedi in the future. And always hope that Rahman's work will be plenty. There can never be too much good music around and I am sure all of you agree that talent no matter who it is from, must be recognised. Oh did i not memtion that Amit trivedi appear to draw inspirtion form Rahman's musical arragements? he does not copy his songs, just the style with all the synth appears simliar. Check out tracks from Dev D like Dhol Yaara Dhol and from Aamir like Chakkar. You will see what i mean.

To: "arrahmanfans" <[email protected]> Date: Friday, June 19, 2009, 4:28 PM I was watching the making of DEV-D dvd where Anurag said "Amit Trivedi is bloody genius. I call him as poor man's Rahman". Amit is really brilliant. His songs in Dev-d speaks that. Calling him poor man's Rahman, I feel it's not money but accessibility. Who does not want to work with AR Rahman? On one hand, a person like Kala Prabu (Sakkarakatti) manages to get AR so easily and on the other hand talented young directors (like Ameer in Tamil) find it difficult to reach him. -- Cheers, Madhavan.R Be a Music Fan; not a Music Pirate!
