AR Rahman book-ed *[image: arrahman_400_02]Mumbai:* Post his great success story at the Oscar Awards, the general public's interest in AR Rahman has increased manifold. He has become the favourite target for biography writers and soon two back-to-back books on the music book will release.
The first one to hit the stands is titled AR Rahman: The Musical Storm. It's been written by Kamini Mathai, who is also a journalist. The second one is being written by Nasreen Munni Kabir. Vijay Mohan Iyer, who is part of Rahman's team says, AR Rahman: The Musical Storm is not an authorised biography. But the other one will be endorsed by Rahman himself." AR Rahman: The Musical Storm claims to trace the life of Rahman from different points of view. It encompasses the tragic death of his father RK Sekhar, a talented music arranger, when Rahman (then Dileep) was just nine years old, Rahman missing school and playing sessions to keep his family going, his conversion to Islam and Sufism and his discovery by Mani Ratnam. Mathai says, "I met Rahman a couple of times. Then I have spoken to people who worked closely with his father, his friends, his directors and his relatives and gathered a lot of information about him." When asked about the other biography, she says, "I have heard about it but I am not sure when it's releasing. Yes, my biography is not authorised because Rahman wanted it like that.
