Baiju NT [July 12, 2009, 12:46:00 PM] The legendary Tamil filmmaker and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi's new film Ponnar Sankar, an adaptation of his well-acclaimed historical novel by the same title, will be launched at Valluvar Kottam on July 12 (Sunday).
After Jeans, Prasanth is doing a dual role for the first time as Ponnar and Sankar in Ponnar Sankar, directed and produced by his father Thyagarajan. A.R. Rahman, the present numero uno in Indian music, is the music director. Ponnar Sankar is the legendary story of two warrior brothers, who lived many centuries ago. Their story is what history is made of and they are worshipped as Kaval Devams in the villages even today; their princely story has been recounted through the countless folk ballads and the brothers are known for their bravery, strength of character and valour.
