Treasured moments: It was one of those rare occasions when music maestro
AR Rahman was in the capital to perform in a concert titled [image: AR
Rahman and Kailash
Kher]<javascript:openslideshownew('/slideshow/4898802.cms?imw=460','541','526')><javascript:openslideshownew('/slideshow/4898802.cms?imw=460','541','526')>
AR Rahman and Kailash Kher
‘AR Rahman Unplugged.’

Apart from the maestro himself, the concert included performances by Kailash
Kher, Sadhna Sargam, Hariharan and drummer Sivamani, besides a spectacular
choir act put together by 30 students from Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory.
Gracing the occasion was minister for Information and Broadcasting Ambika
Soni.

Jai Ho! After Kailash Kher enthralled the audience with some of Rahman’s hit
numbers, it was finally time for the maestro to make an entry. The packed
auditorium welcomed him with a standing ovation. And while Rahman created
magic on the piano, giving him company was Hariharan who belted out tracks
like Tu Hi Re. With such a combination, the audience couldn’t really have
asked for more. It was indeed one Jai Ho moment. Needless to say, the show
ended with the Oscar winning number.
