*Mumbai: *AR Rahman is set to team up with six-time Grammy award-winning
artist John Legend for his ambitious project, an album that will bring
together leading international musicians. Legend, who has been inducted into
the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame, may also be joining the Mozart of
Madras for a peace concert in Sydney to soothe relations between Indians and
Australians following the spate of racist attacks.
AR Rahman will team up with John Legend for an international peace
concert in racism-scarred Australia.
"Rahman first met Legend during the Oscars when they performed songs from
their respective movies --*Slumdog Millionaire* (*Jai Ho*) and *Wall-E* (*Down
to Earth*). They have been in touch ever since," says a source. "Rahman
popped the question to John and he was ecstatic with the offer. They will be
associating now for the international album that features world famous
artists like Mick Jagger, Pussycat Dolls, Kylie Minogue besides the peace
concert in Sydney."
An aide of Rahman told *DNA*, "The logistics of the album as well as the
peace concert are being worked out. Rahman wants to hold the peace concert
next year at Parramatta Park in Sydney, most probably on January 16."
