OK. That confirms that it's just me hearing things. 

I think it's just that when I'm fond of a piece of music and I hear something 
remotely similar (just a whiff) the mind tends to fill in the blanks and give 
the impression of a deeper similarity. Is this a general tendency or just for 
me? Perhaps I2FS-Karthik might have more to say about this.

I was thinking of Dil Gira Dafatan from Delhi 6. I liken the opening section of 
the samples to the guitar beginning of Dil Gira, and the last part of the 
sample (oboe?) with the vocals going 'Dil Gira Dafatan'.

BTW the extract was from Adrian Johnston's score to All The King's Men. It's 
the track Paradise.
Johnston has a wonderful gift for melody! Check out his score to Gideon's
